HKUST Center for Aging Science and Office of Knowledge Transfer joined hands to participate in the Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES) on November 21-24, 2024 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The HKUST booth showcased research projects of the Center's faculties and HKUST startups.
The Center's projects showcased include a humanoid robotic healthcare assistant, a mobile app for dementia assessment, and a stationary bicycle integrated with virtual reality to expand elders' life spaces. The projects attracted interests of visitors of all ages, from as young as ten and upwards.

Jointly hosted by the HKSAR Government and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) and co-organized by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), the GIES is Hong Kong's premier public education event on gerontechnology. This year's GIES featured more than 200 exhibitors and 900 gerontechnology innovation products and applications from Hong Kong, Mainland China and around the world, allowing general public to experience various types of innovative technologies and to jointly explore and build a smart city for the elderly.
